Jorge’s (b.1986) works are often placed at the intersection of musical composition, sound art and music theater. He writes pieces in which the random, the planned, the improvised are interwoven with a multiplicity of meanings or a recontextualization of space and sound. Some of the recurring themes in his work are transformative processes spanning different media, perspective, multiplicity and narrative.

He studied composition in Monterrey (UANL, Bachelor) and music technology in Mexico City (UNAM, Master) with Ricardo Martínez and Roberto Morales. He completed his master’s degree in composition at Anton Bruckner University with Carola Bauckholt, and recently concluded his doctoral studies (Dr. Artium) in the artistic-scientific doctoral program in composition at the Anton Bruckner University, where he taught from October 2022-2024.

His music has been performed by KNM Berlin, Airborne Extended, Ensemble Phace, Neue Vocalsolisten Stuttgart, Schallfeld, Ensemble Recherche, Platypus, Vertixe Sonora, Phoenix, Oerknal! Liminar, Schlagquartett Köln, Toyen Fil øg Klafferi and Norwegian Cornett and Sackbuts, in concerts and festivals such as Wien Modern (AT), Zeiträume Biennale für Neue Musik und Architektur in Basel (CH), Konsertserien Periferien (NO), Südseite Nachts (DE), Festival Internacional Cervantino and Callejón del Ruido (MX), Correspondencias Sonoras (ES), Ars Electronica, Leicht über Linz (AT), Delian Academy for New Music (GR), among others.
