Monolithics I - III
Monolithics (2025)
for amplified bamboo skewers, combed Tupperware, cello, piano, and mouthpieces
Monolithics interrogates the illusion of uniformity. Composed for mass-produced objects and instruments—bamboo skewers, plastic containers—the piece amplifies the hidden singularities lurking within seemingly identical materials.
Every object here was designed for conformity, yet their material disobedience (warped plastic, uneven density, factory defects) betrays them. Monolithics is not about deconstructing the monolith, but revealing how it was always already porous—a collective hallucination of control. The high-frequency sounds (birdlike, industrial, or alien) are the escape routes.
